The Otago Excursion Train Trust would like to express its support for Dunedin Railways and the way we showing this, is by chartering the train to allow Dunedin people to explore further and wider by train.
For our first excursion (and hopefully not our last) since COVID-19 lockdowns, we will be operating a great family day out to Victorian Oamaru.
The excursion will be departing from the Dunedin Railway Station on Saturday 3 April 2021 at 9:15am, the Explore Victorian Oamaru Excursion will operate between Dunedin and Oamaru with spectacular views of the Pacific Coast, including Otago Harbour and Peninsula, Port Chalmers, Blueskin Bay and Karitane coastlines.
Relax and take in the beautiful rolling pastures, farmlands and the small rural towns of North Otago prior to your arrival into Oamaru and learn some fact along the way with an informative commentary.
The 8-hour return excursion includes a 2-hour stopover in Oamaru. Explore some of the local attractions including Scott’s Brewery, Oamaru Steam & Rail, Victorian Oamaru, Steam Punk HQ and Oamaru Botanic Gardens along with the many galleries and boutique shops.
